No 16-floor palace was found. Only parts of the ground floor remain.
Debated. A new study says the walls could have held 16 floors.
The palace is at Yeha, in northern Ethiopia. It was built about 2,800 years ago. The ground-floor walls are about 1.9 metres thick. Sandstone pillars at the entrance were about 10 metres high. A staircase remains. The building burned.
The study cannot say how many floors it really had.
