A cemetery that buried whole wild boars

Tell Kom Aziza, Egypt. Greco-Roman. Greece and Rome. Known. Free

A funeral for the wild boars was not shown.

Known. Whole wild boars were found in a Greco-Roman cemetery.

The place is Tell Kom Aziza, in Beheira, Egypt. People were buried in earth pits, in mudbrick graves, in painted plaster coffins, and in barrel-shaped pottery coffins. Their arms were placed in different ways. In one layer, whole wild boars were buried.

The dig leaders say the boars may link to work or home life, not a formal funeral. They still want more study.
