Nassau harbour is in the Bahamas. Three of six wrecks date to the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Nassau was a pirate base from the 1690s to the 1720s. One hull in the harbour is burnt. Its planks were joined with wooden pegs, and ballast stones held it down. It carried swivel guns. About 22 miles to the east, another wreck had iron cannons, 25 lead musket balls, and a grinding stone.
