Known. Nearly 3,000 silver coins were found in one field.
The field is near Rena, in Åmot, Norway. The find is called the Mørstad Hoard. It is from the mid-11th century. More than 2,970 coins were counted. They are English, German, Danish, and early Norwegian. Their dates run from the 980s to the 1040s. The burying is put at about 1047. Cut silver was there too, and a piece of a silver brooch.
The page thinks a person or a family hid wealth here. It does not name them.
