A gold hoard on a Greek island

Aegina, Greece. 3,500 years old. First cities. Known. Free

Known. A set of gold jewellery was found on Aegina.

The place is Kolona, on the island of Aegina, in Greece. The gold is 3,500 years old, from the first half of the second millennium BC. It lay in a stone building just outside the settlement wall. The set has gold disc pendants, gold beads, thin gold pieces, and seven carnelian beads. Twelve copper bits and a metal pin or needle were with it. No tomb and no skeleton were found.

The page thinks the gold may have been meant for a grave. It cannot show the grave.
