A Roman villa and a "Norfolk Nessie"

Norfolk, England. 1st and 3rd centuries AD. Greece and Rome. Known. Free

No sea monster was found.

Known. Diggers gave a wavy bronze handle the nickname Norfolk Nessie.

The villa is near Dereham, in Norfolk, England. It was built in stages between the 1st and 3rd centuries AD, and people used it until about 250 AD. It stretches more than 100 feet. It had a covered porch, a bathhouse, and a Roman road. The handle is bronze, with a green coat and a snake-like shape. The page says the diggers are not linking it to the Scottish monster story.

The page does not say what is still argued.
