Most of the pot scraps are not star writing.
Known. More than 130 of them are about stars, birth charts, and star signs.
They were found at Athribis, in Sohag, in Upper Egypt. This dig brought up 13,000 inscribed pottery pieces. The site now has about 43,000 in all. The oldest are tax notes in Demotic writing from the 3rd century BC. The newest are Arabic jar labels from the 9th to 11th centuries AD. The star texts are mainly in Demotic and Hieratic.
The page does not say what is still argued.
